A free flash powered program that runs in your web browser, Audiotool does an impressive job of emulating popular synthesizers, rhythm boxes, and a ton of effect pedals. It also provides mixers, signal splitters, and mergers to channel and blend all your equipment however you like. A simple drag and drop interface lets you easily choose which instruments or pedals you want to use by sliding them from a dock into the browser window that serves as your table , and you can add the same instrument several times to create multiple and/or varying melodies. New features are being added, with the latest being the ability to record your creations plus save your instrument layout. Here is an mp3 file of a quick tune I assembled using a drum-n-bass preset, changing synth patterns on the fly to create the music, just as a real musician does when turning knobs and flipping switches.
